Pablo López is pure enthusiasm on stage, and Brutal Events shares that same uncompromising commitment to show quality. I was commissioned to design the Mayday & Stay Tour alongside an incredible creative team, unaware that it would become one of the most meaningful challenges of 2021.

One of the most powerful aspects of the project was scenographically capturing the emotional journey of the pandemic, especially the feeling of being confined at home.

 

From that concept, “La Jaula” (“The Cage”) was born: a four-walled structure built from a 1×1 meter grid of LED bars, enclosing the artist and musicians at the start of the show.

 

After the first two songs, the front wall rises, symbolizing hope and freedom. Reinterpreting such a defining moment in our lives into a live experience was both an honor and a deeply rewarding creative achievement.
