Cascada De Llum - BCN, Spain
“Cascada de Llum” (“Cascade of Light”) unfolds dramatically through the vertical void that descends from the spectacular balcony of the Antònia Serra i Mas House, a singular six-storey Noucentista building designed in 1926 by architect Ramon Puig i Gairalt.
The intervention embraces the architectural identity of the façade, using its proportions and ornamental rhythm as a canvas for a luminous composition that enhances the building’s historic character while introducing a contemporary visual layer.
The piece evokes the fluid behavior of water through the shimmering movement of more than 350 meters of LED lighting integrated across the façade. Light flows downward like a liquid surface, generating reflections, pulses, and subtle transitions that invite viewers to contemplate the dialogue between water, light, and architecture.
For this project, I was responsible for the concept design and the light programming, shaping the visual narrative and translating it into a dynamic sequence that interacts harmoniously with the structure. The result is a poetic and immersive installation that transforms the building into a living cascade of light.
